Does your piece of art deserves the highest quality 3D print filament?

Boost your business!

Artists are renowned for their creativity and innovation. They are always pushing the boundaries of what is possible and constantly striving to create new and unique art. This creativity and innovation is what makes artists so fascinating and inspiring.

While creativity and innovation are important traits for artists, they are also important for businesses. After all, businesses need to constantly be innovating in order to stay ahead of the competition. So if you're looking for a way to boost your business, why not look to the world of art?

With a 3D printer, an artist has the means to create anything he or she wants — yes, anything! This technology has been introduced to almost every single branch of the art world, and the end products are astounding.

'Art is a diverse range of human activity, and resulting product, that involves creative or imaginative talent expressive of technical proficiency, beauty, emotional power, or conceptual ideas.' (Source; wikipedia)

First thing first, about 3D print

All kind of 3D printing types

There are many types of printing available. Which one did you choose? The term 3D printing encompasses several manufacturing technologies that build parts layer-by-layer. Each vary in the way they form plastic and metal parts and can differ in material selection, surface finish, durability, and manufacturing speed and cost.

There are several types of 3D printing, which include:

  • Stereolithography (SLA)
  • Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
  • Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)
  • Digital Light Process (DLP)
  • Multi Jet Fusion (MJF)
  • PolyJet
  • Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS)
  • Electron Beam Melting (EBM)
  • Fused Granulate Fabrication (FGF)

3D printers for Fused Deposition Modeling, or also called, Material Extrusion devices, are the most commonly available types of 3D printing technology globally.

The way it usually works is that a spool of filament is loaded into the 3D printer and fed through to a printer nozzle in the extrusion head. The printer nozzle is heated to the desired temperature, whereupon a motor pushes the filament through the heated nozzle, causing it to melt.

The printer then moves the extrusion head along with specified coordinates, laying down the molten material onto the build plate, where it cools down and solidifies. Once a layer is complete, the printer proceeds to lay down another layer. This process of printing cross-sections is repeated, building layer-upon-layer until the object is fully formed.

Tec.Talk, don't worry, we keep it simple..

Depending on the object’s geometry, it is sometimes necessary to add support structures, for example, if a model has steep overhanging parts.

FDM is used is in 3D printed buildings by extruding clay or concrete, 3D printed deserts by extruding chocolate, 3D printed organs by extruding live cells in a bio gel, you get the idea. If it can be extruded, it can be 3D printed, well almost.

ART is whatever you choose to frame

The Tel Aviv Museum of Art presented an exhibition that includes 28 3D printed architectural models. According to the museum's website, "Production Routes" examines the 50-year-old "transnational circulation of prefabricated large concrete panels, patented between 1931 and 1981, and forms it into a historical collage of ambitions." And short-term enthusiasm for utopian dreams.

The exhibition included two feature films, a video art installation and an exhibition of 3D printed models, which "illustrates the ambivalence of modern housing projects that seek to promote equality while reducing life forms into one. On the assembly line."

The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is one of the first Israeli cultural institutions and is an excellent institution for hosting these kind of exhibitions. It includes a modern and contemporary department of art, photography, architecture and design, and the department of old masters covers 16th to 19th century art.

Be inspired

Is it hard for you to find your inspiration? In the current world were we get an overload of information,  it's difficult to hold on to your scope. TMI's slow you down and throw you off track. Perhaps you can find new idea's in 3D Printing. Filaments come in several kind of compounds, which offer a lot of design possibilities. From effects like, bronze, copper, cork, matte color, shiny, and even silver or fluorescent!

Keep up with the competition

The talent you have will never vanish. In each specialism we need to level-up and reach for that advanced level.

High layer heights can't be an excuse
