- Excellent functional Material
If PLA is cheaper and excellent for my iteration development process, nGEN filament is for me often the final functional material for, housings, covers, etc.
Nice shiny material and does the job for me from 0.2 - 0.35 layer height.
Eventually clogging the hot-end I did eliminate completely having the filament running through a sponge just before entering the extruder. The sponge is lightly soaked (once a week two or three drops) in sewing machine oil. With this I keep the filament clean and a little slippery in the hot-end throat

nGen gives best results on a heated build platform, 75C to about 85C is usually needed for proper adhesion to a glass plate.
Printing on a cold bed is possible but you’ll need some adhesion tools to minimize warping. 3DLac, buildTak or 3DEeze can do the trick.
